Obituary for STEPHEN J. PAWLAK

Stephen J. Pawlak, 89, of Orland Park, Evergreen Park and Thorp, Wisconsin; loving husband of 56 years to the late Helen, nee Koscielski; beloved father of Susan Hoffmann, Thomas Pawlak, Janice Neff and father-in-law to Steve Neff. Cherished Boppa to Kim (Rick) Luczak and Michael (Brooke) Hoffmann; loving great grandfather to Jeremy and Justin Luczak and Max Hoffmann.

Loving brother to Edward (Delores) Pawlak, Loretta (the late George) Ward and the late Thaddeus (Theresa) Pawlak. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews and a friend to everyone he met.

Steve was a devout Catholic, ever faithful to the Church, proud of his Polish heritage and of his service to our nation in the U.S. Air Force in WWII. He was President of the Tilden HS class of 1935, a respected Allstate Insurance agent, Evergreen Park Precinct Captain for Mayor Vacco, Queen of Martyrs Garden Club Member, and a former member of the Board of Directors of Grunwald Savings. Steve was a man who loved all the simple beauty of life and the joy of God’s creation.

Remembered by his family as a kind, gentle, peaceful man who took pleasure in his family and relatives enjoying the family farm in Thorp, Wisconsin. His hours were spent creating beautiful gardens of flowers and vegetables at home, listening to Classical and Big Band music and always dancing with his endearing wife, Helen. Stephen was a true romantist, greeting everyone with a kind and gentle word, a simple embrace and a gentle kiss.
