
Robert “Bob” J. Horsch, age 76 passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 29, 2021 after a courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary fibrosis. During his last moments, he was surrounded by loved ones and got to say his goodbyes to each one of them before he passed.
Beloved husband of Linda Sue Horsch (Gutrich) happily married to Bob for 44 wonderful years.
Cherished and loved father to Jeffrey Horsch, Jennifer (Horsch) Swanson and Father-in-Law to Nick Swanson. Grandfather to his precious grandchildren, Madelynn and Aubrey Swanson.
Loving son of the late John Horsch and Mary (Foley) Horsch.
Dear brother of Jack Horsch, Marianne Murphy, Larry Horsch, and Phyllis Hutchinson.
Brother and sister -in-laws to Kathy(Atwell) Horsch, the late Willaim Murphy,Janet (Steffens) Horsch,Tom Hutchinson, Cheryl (Gutrich) Russell, Bill Russell, Donna (Gurtich) DeLance and the( late) Denny DeLance.
He was a cherished uncle,cousin,and friend to many wonderful people.
Bob served our country during the Vietnam war and was a part of the 9th infantry division of the army. He loved his country and wanted to protect it.
After the war, Bob worked as an electrician for 22 years but quit that job to pursue his passion of taking pictures of Chicago cityscape and sports teams. Bob went on to run and own his own business called Bob Horsch Gallery. It was here he spent more than 40 years working as a photographer. Bob enjoyed visiting the best locations around the city and going to Chicago sporting events to create many timeless pieces for customers to enjoy. His love of photography led him to participate in many art fairs over the years.
Bob was a hard working and compassionate man that lived life to the fullest. He always said “He lived a good life.” and was blessed with many good years to enjoy it.
Bob‘s visitation will be held at Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home at 9000 W.151st Street in Orland Park, Il on Thursday, Sept.2nd 3-8 p.m.
Funeral will be Friday, Sept. 3rd at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Michael”s Church at 14327 Highland Ave.in Orland Park for Mass 9:30 a.m. then on to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
