Ranquist Jr., Robert Charles Age 81

Robert C. “Bob” Ranquist, 81, of Palos Park passed away peacefully at Holy Family Villa on November 9, 2021. Beloved husband of Maureen Ranquist, loving father of Bob III, of Chicago, Illinois; John of Lakewood, Colorado; and Holly (Joe) Santoro of Cleveland, Ohio. Dearest grandfather of Charles Ranquist, Alec Ranquist, Grace Santoro, and Maxwell Santoro.
Bob was born July 20, 1940 on Chicago’s South Side to Dr. Robert C. Ranquist, Sr and Niceta S. Ranquist. He graduated from Saint Ignatius College Prep and earned a business degree at John Carroll University in Cleveland. Bob was President of Robert C. Ranquist & Co., a developer of residential and commercial real estate in the Chicago area. He was the recipient of many awards and honors for condominium and townhouse design including the 1989 Chicago Sun Times “Builder of the Year.”
On February 19, 1966, Bob married Maureen to whom he was happily and faithfully married for fifty-five years. Bob and Maureen have been parishioners of Our Lady of the Woods for forty years, were longtime members of Beverly Country Club, and enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Bob was the past President of the Illinois Harness Racing Association.
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert C. and Niceta Ranquist; his siblings Katherine Desmet, William Ranquist and Mary Niceta Ranquist. He is survived by his brother, Edward (Nancy) Ranquist.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Saint Ignatius College Prep.
