Kevin 61, beloved son of Thomas and Rosemary Ryan died April 29, 2021 where he lived at Good Shepherd Manor in Momence, IL.
Cherished brother to Kelly (Nancy) Ryan, Chris (Donnie) Ryan, Cara (Leon Chai) Ryan, and David (HeeShin) Ryan.
Uncle to Matthew (Dr. Isa) Ryan, Andrew (Kaia) Ryan, Jack (Kelly) Ryan, Katie Ryan, Maggie Ryan, Annie Ryan, and great-uncle to Lucille Ryan.
Kevin had Down Syndrome but never did he think of it as being handicapped. He lived life to the fullest and touched many lives in countless ways. He lived at home with his parents until the age of 31 and then gained his “independence” by moving into a group home in Chicago Heights. Kevin was a charter participant in South Suburban Special Recreation, and attended New Star Services day program until 6 years ago when he moved to Good Shepherd Manor. He worked in the community at Good Shepherd Center for Exceptional Children, St. James Olympia Fields Hospital, Culvers, and McDonalds making friends along the way.
Memorial Visitation Saturday, June 5, 2021, 10:00 a.m. until Memorial Celebration of Life Mass 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena, IL.
Interment will be private on Monday, June 7, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wapella, IL
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Kevin Ryan to Good Shepherd Manor, P. O. Box 260, Momence, IL 60954.
