Obituary for John Francis Scanlon
SCANLON, JOHN FRANCIS
Passed away peacefully, under hospice care, on January 16, one day shy of his 74th birthday. He was born in London, England to Margaret (nee Molyneaux) and the late Timothy. Brother of the late Timothy. John and his family immigrated to the US in 1956 and settled in Chicago. He graduated from Calumet High and joined the US Army. After his return from the service he joined the banking business where he enjoyed a career and retired. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, golf, travel and watching all sports. He will always be remembered as being a caring and loving son to his mother. He is survived by many cousins in the US and England. We will miss his wit and English humor. Contributions in John’s name to a charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, May 6th, at 11:00 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
