Bettridge, Grace K. Age 24

Beloved daughter of John and Karen (nee Marren) Bettridge.
Cherished sister of Emily Bettridge.
Loving partner of Kristian Gelfo.
Proud granddaughter of the late John and Janet Bettridge, and Luke and Mary Marren.
Dear niece of Jaime (Joseph) McCorry, Jackie (Dan) Flynn, Jim (Rose) Bettridge, Rev. Martin Marren, Eileen (Frank) DalCanton, Sheila (Brian) McGoldrick, Mary Beth (late Greg) Roak, Patrick (LuAnn) Marren,Theresa (Joe Avdich) Litoborski, Sean (Kerry) Marren, Katie Marren, and the late James Marren.
Adored cousin of many.
Well loved by the Gelfo family.

Born on June 18, 1996, Grace was a beautiful, compassionate and generous young woman. As a child, she would spend all of her time playing with baby dolls, taking care of them as if they were her own. Her love of children continued throughout her life, becoming an amazing babysitter and best friend to many of her younger cousins. Her love never stopped there. Grace was loyal to family and friends, standing up for them when anyone would do them wrong. Beyond friends and family, she would always root for the underdog, a social justice warrior who stood up for those who needed a hand. During the recent protests for Black Lives Matter, her first instinct was to donate some of her hard-earned money to the bail fund in Chicago to help the people who took to the streets to stand up for what was right when she wasn’t able to be on the front lines with them.

Grace’s deep love of music stems from high school percussion, when she wore the biggest bass drum in the drum line. To this day, she would rarely be without her bluetooth speaker and she will jump at the chance to go to concerts and music festivals - especially Bonnaroo.

Her love of tie-dye, lipstick, Dr. Martens and anything holographic gave her a unique and memorable sense of style. Her loved ones are planning to wear tie-dye to the wake and funeral in her honor. As for favorite animals, she adored dogs, especially Molly, her Yellow Lab, and sharks of any kind, which she even had tattooed on her ankle.

Grace’s contagious smile and warm, welcoming personality made anyone feel at ease instantly. Her free spirit and loveable laugh will live on with the people that were lucky enough to have known her during her short time on earth.

Goodnight and God Bless, our Gracie-girl.
