Gibbons, Edward C. Vet of WWII, recipient of the Purple Heart and wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. Beloved husband of the late Catherine Gibbons. Loving father of the late Katherine Gibbons. Fond brother of Charlotte Klein & the late Bernadette (Lester) Wenz. Kind uncle to many nieces and nephews. Wonderful friend to his dog Shadow. Devoted friend to his caregiver Carol Paulausky. Adoring “Mr. Ed” to Andrew & Addison Rusnak and Connor & Caitlyn Hennessy. Visitation Sunday 2-9 p.m. Funeral Monday 8:45 a.m. from the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 4950 W. 79th Street Burbank, to St. John Church, 301 Cottage Grove, Glenwood, IL Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Longtime member of the American Legion Post # 854 of Evergreen Park, IL and The Military Order of the Purple Heart.
