David Graham Peppin, age 88, died on November 7, 2018 surrounded by family and those that loved him dearly. He was born August 25, 1930 in Pasadena, CA to the late David and Alice (nee Hilands) Peppin, and was a cherished brother of Janet Gorton and the late Bruce Peppin.
David completed his undergraduate degree at University of California, Berkeley, and served in the U.S. Navy until his Honorable Discharge on February 5, 1968. David also traveled the world. The stories of his adventures became the foundation for everyone in the family to embrace new experiences with open arms. He eventually settled in Illinois, where he instilled a thirst for knowledge and a strong work ethic onto his loved ones. In his spare time, he very much enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading one of his hundreds of books on his Kindle, keeping up with current events and Chicago sports, and spoiling his two beloved cats, Cookie and Lucky.
David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Helen Lin Peppin, and his children, Melanie Rock (Andy), David Jr. Peppin, Patty Fu, Cathy Casson (John), and Paul Fu (Pamela). He will also be remembered by his grandchildren, Aileen Ciesielski (Edward), Shaun Fu, Laura Fu, Christopher Rock, Reza Rock, and Bilqis Rock. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service in memory of David will be held Monday, November 19th, 10:00 a.m., at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery - 20953 W. Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421.
